چکیده

This study investigates the integration of a biomass mechanical pretreatment technology and hydrothermal liquefaction for valorization biopulp; organic fraction municipal solid waste. A preliminary screening conditions was carried out to investigate impact temperature (350 400 °C) presence alkali catalyst (K2CO3) during conversion biopulp. Sub-critical were noticed have significant positive on energy recovery bio-crude. Therefore, 350 °C-catalytic experiment deemed as reference test. To increase in biocrude, recirculation aqueous phase further investigated. In this case, obtained fractionated into distillate concentrate phase. By recirculating four consecutive cycles, bio-crude production yield increased 49.3% 84.3%, respectively. Additionally, evaporation revealed removal nitrous compounds (mostly form ammonia) fractionation process. conclusion, recirculation-assisted HTL biopulp is an efficient process valorize matter

Hydrothermal Treatment of Municipal Solid Waste to Produce Solid Fuel

This paper describes the application of innovative hydrothermal technology on local municipal solid waste (MSW) to produce low chlorine content solid co-firing fuel with coal. Raw MSW was treated at temperatures ranging from 210 to 235°C with 30 to 90 minutes holding period. The process yielded slump products which were then naturally dried to 5% moisture content, resulted in dry products with ...

Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Food Waste and Model Food Waste Compounds

Solid waste is generated at a rate of more than 4 lb per person per day. A significant portion of the non-recyclable waste is food waste, with high water content and low energy density. While most thermochemical conversion processes require a relatively dry feedstock, hydrothermal liquefaction uses subcritical water as the reaction medium and is therefore compatible with high-moisture feedstock...

Hydrothermal carbonization of municipal waste streams.

Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a novel thermal conversion process that can be used to convert municipal waste streams into sterilized, value-added hydrochar. HTC has been mostly applied and studied on a limited number of feedstocks, ranging from pure substances to slightly more complex biomass such as wood, with an emphasis on nanostructure generation. There has been little work exploring ...

Composting of municipal solid waste

THE CITY OF COLOMBO , which has a resident population of little over half a million, and a total area of 3731 hectares, is administered by a Municipal Council. The collection and disposal of solid waste generated within the City is a function of the Municipal Council, and is carried out by its six district offices. The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) collects around 500 metric tons of solid was...
